Grant County Master Gardeners…

WHO IS A MASTER GARDENER & HOW DO I BECOME ONE?

Master Gardener is a person who has been officially trained and certified,
and who likes to share his or her knowledge of gardening with other people.

The goal of the Grant County Master Gardener Program is to train volunteers so they can, in turn, provide research-based information on a wide variety of horticultural topics to the public in their communities.   Grant County is a part of the Wisconsin Master Gardener Program.

Since forming our group in 2001, the Grant County Master Gardener Volunteers work with the county Extension personnel in providing educational services to their communities including:
• answering gardening questions from the public
• conducting plant clinics; gardening activities with children, senior citizens or disabled persons
• beautifying the community
• developing community or demonstration gardens
• other horticultural activities

Grant County Master Gardeners offer a wide variety of programs and projects throughout the year consisting of a plant sale, speakers and tours, for more information check out their 2012 Calendar of Events and their newsletters.  Additional forms and reports are also available as well as other programs in the area.
